Not Japanese, but shouldn't the correct term be "seppukko" for this proposed
solemn sacrifice. At least that's what it was called in the bygone days
when the noble samurai warrior chose this manner of death.
I understand that this was considered an honorable way of departing this
world for a member of the samurai warrior class.
