PROCEED WITH CAUTION! I have "fixed" a filter ring and in the process ruined the smoothness of the focus mechanism. Lenses don't like being banged to one side like that. I ruined a pretty nice super takumar recently like that because of excess banging and I was using a tool specifically for the dent repair.
