At first, I thought I was looking at Richard preparing Jacques for a photo Richard was going to take—framing his head with his hands...
And then I saw three fingers of Jacques' left hand curled over Richard's shoulder, and instantely the entire image took on new meaning!
Those two were friends, and it was a close moment!

Did you see the one on Jaques Henri-Lartigue just before. Seems from the archive films he spent the latter part of his life (he died in 1986) holding a Pentax (looked like a black Spotmatic-series or earlier?).
He certainly seemed to be holding it in when he was shooting the official portrait of President Valérie Giscard d'Estaing.
