That's easy. You shoot the subject that you are intimate with / know everything about / have great access to. You plug away at it and get your name about, make a nuisance of yourself, and the pics will start to sell. There's no such thing as someone who buys some nice new kit, goes out and starts making money as a 'photographer'.
