Well the 'poxy Sigma lens' performance is probably no worse than the 'poxy Canon lens' at that price point. Also the *istD competes with the Canon 10D not the 300D, so you need to price it against that. IF (<- big if) we get a Baby *istD at Photokina then that should be a similar sort of price to the 300D.
