Just like the electronic revolution killed several venerable companies. In particular I believe that small companies whose image is based on mechanical engineering 40-50 years ago are in the danger zone. I suspect Canon is a more valuable brand name for the younger generations than Hasselblad. Lets face it, old farts are dying out and hardly anyone younger than 40 connect Carl Zeiss with something particular whereas Canon L lenses are well known. It might be wrong though...
