It's all such bullshit, and so irrelevant.
I've posted photos of my friend Jennifer, the singer. Her guitarist, Bill, tapes over the logos of all his guitars and amplifiers (and he has many lovely guitars on stage with him). I asked him why, and he said, "Gibson, Fender and the others don't pay me to play their guitars. Were I in a hugely successful rock band, they might give me free guitars and maybe even pay me promotional fees for using their guitars as it's great publicity for them. But, since they don't pay me to use their product, I refuse to give them free publicity." cheers, frank -- "It's about time we started to take photography seriously and treat it as a hobby." -Eliott Erwitt
