I do have to agree with his philosophy!
I have long standing habit of taking license plate frames off my new car after I buy it.
I absolutely refuse to act as a rolling advertisement for a car sales organization.
I've offered to leave them on for a flat $250/year, but I've had no takers yet!

It is out and out free publicity, and I say no...

A couple of places would reinstall them every time I took the car in for servicing.
I'd remove them when I got home and trash them.

Well said, Frank .... and it should be pointed out that many photogs other
than Leica users tape their cameras. Check out Nachtwey's Canon gear the
next time you watch "War Photographer." Anyway, why should it be an issue
for anyone how someone else chooses to "decorate" their camera. It seems
that a particular list member's reptile-skinned LX meets with approval
here, but tape over some logos is called pretentious and seems to be looked
down upon. It's all such bullshit, and so irrelevant.

I've posted photos of my friend Jennifer, the singer. Her guitarist,
Bill, tapes over the logos of all his guitars and amplifiers (and he
has many lovely guitars on stage with him). I asked him why, and he
said, "Gibson, Fender and the others don't pay me to play their
guitars. Were I in a hugely successful rock band, they might give me
free guitars and maybe even pay me promotional fees for using their
guitars as it's great publicity for them. But, since they don't pay
me to use their product, I refuse to give them free publicity."
