Worse: Appears not to have separate wheels for aperture and shutter speed either. One wheel and a button...
(I don't think I like the picture modes but some others may).

My quick response: better = USB 2. faster FPS and bigger buffer. Larger
LCD, faster synch, better sharpness, saturation and contrast range settings,
apparently you can rotate pictures in camera and have the default display
with the histogram overlay and has a blown-highlights indicator.

not as good = no mirror lock up, doesn't look like it can take a vertical
release/battery grip

Stuff that doesn't worry me either way: SD cards, Picture modes.

Exactly what I expected in a "budget" DSLR to compete with the 300D. Those
of you thinking it was going to be a replacement for the current *ist D were
insane. After all these years haven't you figured out how Pentax works?

Honestly it looks like a *ist film body...

What I'm hoping for as a result of this camera being released: firmware
updates for the current D and new/updated browsing/RAW conversion software.

I can understand why mankind hasn't given up war. During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings and shoot foreigners - two things that are usually frowned on during peacetime.
