The tail wagging the dog perhaps. If they couldn't fit it then they set an 
initial design criterion that was too strict. I imagine that if there is 
currently absolutely no room then a design adjustment of probably no more than 
2.5mm in body depth would have done the trick nicely. All the old sensors took 
up stuff all space and another 2.5mm wouldn't have blown out their micro 
miniature body fantasy. They were brand new designs, they every opportunity to 
incorporate an aperture feedback sensor in the design. The question is what was 
the nature of their motivation for omitting it (and I don't buy the extra cost 
argument for a second)
