Power zoom will work on MZ-5, MZ-5n, MZ-3 with the zoom ring in the right position. If you can see the words "Power Zoom" below the zoom ring it should be working, if you pull the ring back towards the camera you disengage power zoom and regain manual control, the other features only work with the likes of the Z1-p. It's a great consumer zoom, optically close to the 28-70 F/4 IMHO.
