History goes back as far as there was someway to record it. The world of course was around long before Bob W. We have some vague idea of what the weather was prior to the oldest trees, but that is currently the most accurate dating source.

Hell, we are not even sure where we are in the ice age cycle which Bill pointed out. There is not much doubt that we are in a era of global warming, but there is no hard evidence of what is causing it. There are a lot of opposing opinions of which the most unlikely have huge popular and political support. I see you like it up there on the band wagon.

Hi,

The 50 year period from 1950-2000 was the midest calmest period of
weather ever recorded in the history of the world (even by checking tree
rings which gives close to 3000 years of data). You do not need some
fancy alarmist theory of global warming to account for the return to
normal weather conditions.

In the green corner we have the national academies of science for
every major country in the world, and all the current Nobel laureates
in science.

In the red corner we have Greywolf - who thinks the history of the
world goes back 3000 years - and William Robb.

Ladies and Gentlemen, choose your authorities!
