I noticed that others have mentioned odd offsets, but there is also the Daylight Savings Time. Some places use DST and others do not. And that is not necessarily the same even across one country. Here in the US we even have one state (Indiana) where it is optional (what a nightmare that is) so that one state has two timezones in the summer and only one in the winter.

Of course all that stuff is an example of what happens when you let politicians decide things. Can't just let peaple get up an hour earlier if they want to...

Or are they divided into West Europe/East Europe type zones, rather than hourly?
