Now I remember you and your lego photos. They're great. The new DA 14/2.8 should be perfect for what you want to do. The DA 16-45/4 might suffice as well. Both are for *istD only as they have a smaller image circle.

The wide prime is primarily for taking photos from within the model (camera mounted inside, DOF calculated because I can't see through the viewfinder). Ideally a physically small lens is best.

I'm looking for something to use as I was using the 28, so I guess I'm looking for something in the 14-20 range, AF a plus but not necessary. Any suggestions? Should I make the choice as I would for 35mm or are there special *istD considerations beyond the 1.5 multiplier? It'd be a real plus to be able to use the super- wide with the 35mm bodies, so I'm leaning toward not getting the DA 14mm.
