Sure, modern compacts are getting better and better. Last half-a-year
the makers even started addressing issues like start-up time and
shutter lag, which was a great surprise.

Interesting. Does it use a hybrid (active+passive) AF? I remember the
E-10 and E-20 having very good AF speed with their fixed lens because
of hybrid AF (although, at least the E-10 had a lot of focus
inaccuracies IIRC).

Still, I am reluctant to admit that a compact will have that good
focus tracking and predictive AF as a modern SLR with AF system like
latest SAFOX, especially mated with IF or USM lens. Perhaps I am wrong though
;-)
