Not necessarily, the relative size of the active lens elements in many IS
lenses appear quite compact and the *ist D sensor (same as the new Minolta)
weighs in at 7.00g bare. Kind of makes you kind of wonder why they bother to
move the lens for track/focus and not the sensor in CD/DVD pick-ups too.
The bare sensor weight comprises a % of the total mass to be moved., but not all the weight?
