Looks like what you guys have going on is you are both on Gmail. So when the message is forwarded by the list server it comes back to Gmail with a Gmail sender on it. Gmail knows it is incoming rather than local and thinks maybe it is a spoof, so it gives you a heads up on it. Pretty smart programming in my opinion.

Yeah, someone else mentioned the same thing to me off-list.

I guess G-mail is all confused about this list thing, because when
that other person and I e-mailed each other off-list, the ominous
messages didn't appear.  Then, back on-list, they were still there.

Go figure.  I guess I'm not who I appear to be.  Thank God for small
miracles, eh?  <g>
