It's not confused - it's reporting the fact that the "From:" header
in the message (set, by the list software, to the name of the original
poster) doesn't match the "Envelope From" header saying who is making
the post - in this case, the list redistribution server.

There's no way to distinguish between address 'forging' for good causes
(such as list software) and the same techniques being used for malicious
purposes (such as would be done by spammers and/or identity thieves).

gmail just reports the anomoly, and lets the user decide what to do.
