Normal lens for ist-D, reccomendations?

I'm looking for a "normal" AF lens (28 to 35mm) for the D.
Has ayone tried the FA 28/2.8 or the FA 35/2 ?
The FA 31/1.8 is WAY out of my price range, though very nice.
Recommendations? Any other good ones out there?
