Amy, Sigma introduced the 28/1.8 together with a 24/1.8 and 20/1.8. From the reviews I've read, the 28/1.8 is the most successful design of the three-that is to say, it truly performs well over a wide range of apertures, with reasonable corner sharpness. It won't protect against flare as well as a Pentax, but that shouldn't matter as much on an ist-D, where its effective focal length will be 42mm. Paul Franklin Stregevsky
