You should still be able to order a replacement door from Pentax USA for not
a lot of money. Changing the back door on it is very easy. When you open
the back door and look at the hinge there should be a small screw near the
top of the hinge. Don't get out that mini screwdriver! Simply use your
fingernail to slide the screw down along the hinge axis, releasing the door
from the body. Reverse the process to replace it. Easy. If you have
problems finding the door I may be able to help - I have friends at a local
repair shop.

Subject: Problem with buttons on back of PZ-1p

Hello, everyone. It's been a while since I've posted to the list. I have a
quick question.

The exposure compensation and metering mode buttons on the rear door of my
PZ-1p have just failed. Does anyone know the easiest (cheapest) solution?
Wasn't there once a databack (time/date stamp thingy) available? Is that
something I could buy and install myself to solve my problem? Is it still
available anywhere? Is there a better solution?

Thanks,
Rob
