True, Sam. I buy all new stuff in Germany - through the internet. VAT is only 17% - in Denmark 25%. I do not have to pay Danish VAT because of EU-rules. I feel bad about NOT supporting Danish deales, though. But the *ist D cost 30-60% more in Denmark compared to Germany. So, I didn't feel I really had a choise! I actually "earned" 4000 Dkr (536 Euros = 25% off) by buying this in Foto-Porst, Berlin. I think it's crazy we can't compete, 'cause it's not just the VAT - the price tags are just huge here!
My Vosonic X's-Drive cost me 1800 Dkr in Germany (Technik Direkt) - and 2900 Dkr in Denmark!! The difference is just too obvious. BTW this 40GB hard drive/card reader now comes with a Picture Screen and the ability to show pictures on a TV, in a few weeks - I just saw it at yesterdays photo show. Brilliant machine! Or would there be a problem with taxes then? Sam (Flensborg) > Not, bad.
