There's the Sigma 17-35/2.8-4 EX ASP. Resulting images are very sharp with good contrast. I haven't spent a bunch of time with it yet, but there seems to be very little light fall-off in the corners.
Build quality certainly isn't up to Limited standards, but decent enough. My biggest gripes are the awkward fit for the bayonet hood and the funky rear cap. This lens replaced the Vivitar you mention below, which is also not a bad lens for the price. Let me know if you'd like to see samples from either one and I'll see what I can scare up. t On 10/25/04 12:34, Jens Bladt wrote: > This may be a stupid (and already many times answered) question. > But I can't seem to figure out how to spend money in the best posible way. > I have many nice Pentax lenses, that I frequently use for "professional" > work (for books/planning publications, development briefs, presentations > etc.), mostly about architecture and planning. > > Since I started shooting with my Pentax *ist D, I need a wider zoom lense, > preferbley 16mm-60mm :-) > > How would you rate the options? > > Pentax 18-55mm F4-5.6 = 180 Euros > Petnax 16-45mm F4 = 456 Euros > Sigma 18-50 3.5-5.6 DC = 99 Euros > Sigma 18-125 3.5-5.6 DC = 245 Euros > Sigma EX 18-50 F2.8 DC = 429 Euros > Tokina AF 19-35mm 3.5-4.5 = 186 Euros > Vivitar Series 1 19-35mm 3.5-4.5 = 117 Euros (ebay) > > Are there options I have overlaooked?
