And who says they don't????? i.e. Isnt the DA 14mm F2.8
lens smaller and lighter ( and cheaper ) than
any FF 14mm F2.8 lens on the market?

I just have to wonder why on the shelf items don't seem to match what 
you are saying about optical theory?
Except the part about cost.
