Sounds to me as if the sensor isn't actually doing anything. As if you were using a flash on manual.Annoyingly, the sensor is definitely doing something, I am using a honkin big flash.
Were the sensor doing nothing, everything within about 50 feet would be blown out.
It's typical Pentax TTL flash control, just worse.
