when the people running to specify and require film that they supply, there isn't much choice, is there? they've already filtered out anyone that doesn't care to shoot film anymore. i've been going over Fuji and Kodak film sales volume numbers and predictions. they aren't good and no-one, including Fuji or Kodak, expect them to flatten out for 4 or 5 years at least. at 20%/year decline, that's a market shrinking to well less than 40% of it's current size. if camera phones take off in the west like they did in Japan and Korea, then the rate will be higher and the decline will last longer. personally, i think 10% of today's volume would be about where Kodak and Fuji may well decide to exit the market entirely.
