Ah..! I predicted that Fuji and Kodak will eventually drop out of the film business. The thing about big business is they are only interested about BIG business. When the pot is not big enough to support the giants they leave the game. Then the small bettors can play.

I was surprised about Ilford, but I guess too much of their stock wound up held by Swiss Banks after they acquired parts of Ciba. There is a vast difference between a company run by someone who is in the business because that is the business he loves, and one run by somebody who is in it for the money. The money types will take their money and run at the first suggestion of falling profits.

Wanna bet ? A case of Quebec beer ?

Are you going to deliver it?

Look at Fuji's marketing strategy over the past couple of decades.
They don't service any part of the industry that is not volume/ high profit.
When film hits their predefined profit wall, they will get out of it.

Kodak, for all their legendary stupidity, has been a much better company regarding serving the film marketplace.

My assertion does presume that Kodak isn't just going to dry up and blow away......
