I'm very afraid that the tolerances are close enough that, cutting a screen and installing it, and then attempting to use it for in-viewfinder golden section composition would prove to be futile (if I were to attempt it). Besides, if a screen is manufactured, one SHOULD be able to obtain it.
Tom, it wouldn't be that hard, really.
The tolerances aren't really that close, I bet within a mm would be fine for overall size.
OTOH, I would prefer to just buy one as well.
