hi everyone! just a quick post to let you all know that i'm doing fine. i've had a fair few PDML'ers email me off list due to my being so quiet of late, so i just wanted to tell you all that there is nothing to worry about.
lucky me has met the most incredible guy. things are going fantastic, it appears that i may actually be one of the lucky ones to have found their "fairytale".he is an aneasthetic technician and very intent on looking after me and my kids. the new "assets" are settling in well, no problems or bad side effects at all. business is going really well too. so well in fact that i am currently flying to brisbane most weekends for work. as a result of this, i am in the process of relocating to brisbane, and expect to be there in the week of 18 December, just prior to xmas. i have a number of wonderful projects in the works and on the horizon and 2005 is looking to be a very exciting year. unfortunately my plans to move to the US were quashed by my ex-husband disallowing me to take the children out of the country. and this is fair enough i believe so we compromised with me agreeing to stay and him allowing me to move to brisbane. i do have a question - if any listers have been or are in training for ultra endurance cycling, could you please contact me off list so that i may pick your brains? my new partner and i are going to ride around australia in june/july with hopes of covering 14000kms in 60 days. i won't be riding the entire way as i will need to be working alot in the support vehicle to update our website and to process donations etc, but my goal is to reach 5000kms myself. as an added "twist" to our challenge, we are going to do a skydive in every capital city along the way. we are beginning hard core training in the next month, and fundraising from now. we are doing it to aid SIDS research (i think it is called Crib Death, in the US), and will be in conjunction with the calendar that i am shooting for them. it is pretty huge stuff, we have the media department for the National body of SIDS and Kids at our disposal, and it appears that we may even have Sunrise (aussies may know it), track our process and do live crosses to us along the way. we will be starting in brisbane at king george square on 24 june, and not sure of the final route yet, but will be finishing in brisbane too. this is a huge mental, emotional and physical investment and we both cannot wait to embark on such a wonderful experience together. if anyone has any suggestions for sponsorship, fundraising ideas, cycling tips, crewing, nutrition, endurance training, equipment etc, please do contact me off list as all assistance is most welcome and highly appreciated. once we have decided on a name for the trek we will register a domain name and begin a countdown to the day. we intend that i will keep a web blog from the beginning and then later on probably edit the entries down into a book that we hope to publish and sell - also to raise money for SIDS research (i lost a baby sister to SIDS so we are both very passionate about the organisation), and to assist in future cyclists in their preparations for such challenges. apart from this, i have been loosely following the threads (although not as closely as i should be!) and eagerly look forward to the new DSLR find a way into my hot little hands. I am still shooting exclusively with the *ist D with great results that only continue to improve. tan.x.
