Hi

Long time Pentax user with a collection of screw mount lenses and bodies
starting with an S1a. Lately I've been doing nearly all my shooting in
digital with a nice little Nikon 990, but I want better quality and plan on
soon getting an *istDS kit. I already have a donated screw to K adapter
and plan on putting some of my old lenses to work.

I have been keeping my eyes open for newer lenses and a couple of weeks ago
found a F-70-210 for $80 CDN but when I was about to purchase it we
discovered the focus was jammed. I offered to buy the lens for a few
dollars but the manager of the London Drugs store gave it to me free - even
with end caps.

So I am attempting to get into it and discover why the focus is jammed
solid at infinity. I am having two problems.

The tiny screws are TOO tight. I have taken the end off of 2 Phillips #000
screw drivers. One was a cheap low quality one but the other was a medium
quality tool. The best available locally. Now I'm waiting for a better
tool to arrive. Any hints on loosening these little suckers up to make them
easier to remove? Heat? Solvents? Other??

Second I'm not sure where to attack next. Photos of my progress are on the
web page below. Any suggestions on what I should attempt to unscrew next?
Also can anyone tell me what the holes/screws under the rubber zoom ring in
the third picture do?
