I use the LCD solely as a composition/information tool, only viewing the 
histogram will provide accurate confirmation of exposure. Unfortunately there 
are a few button presses to get there.

This is my problem too, I much prefer being able to set the aperture on the 
lens when working aperture preferred or manual.
