I suspect the use of SD for the DS is a technical one. Maybe they were trying to keep it as compact as possible. Personally, I do not like CF because I feel the pins are fragile. I like the way SD works better.
Good point. We had our countertop unit down for almost a week because some jackass customer (I hate those bastards) managed to bend a pin on our CF slot.
The pin grounded out the reader and the multicard drive and the motherboard had to be replaced.
