Agreed, and this is the conundrum.
Were I an Optio user looking for an upgrade, then the SD card in the istDS is a nice thing, and something the other companies aren't offering.
My concern is that if this is the new way of doing things at Pentax, the future upgrade camera will also be SD card. Not so good for the istD user who wants to buy a new camera, but doesn't want to buy another 3 or 4 gigs of storage media.
I realize that at the moment, I am looking for trouble, since there isn't, as far as I know, an upgrade to the istD on the sidelines.
