REPLY: Nobody knows where Pentax is going and in the case of Pentax the past isn't really a key to the future. With digital the rules have changed and most major camera manufacturers, including Pentax will cater more to the high-end for the simple reason that the lower end is being heavily eroded. More and more people will get their snapshooting needs satisfied by cell phones and such, which makes it important for "real" camera manufacturers to make "real" cameras like slr's. Also, for digital, theres much harder competition from far more players in the entry level. Pentax problem is the lack of market penetration which makes it difficult for them to sell a very expensive digital slr. Personally, I won't buy an $8000 DSLR anyway and could wait until the prices for such sensors reach a level where even Pentax could manage to sell them! Pl
