Jason Randolph did the internet equivalent of sitting on a nest of fire ants by stumbling into this mailing list and writing:
"Hello everyone... I am the new guy. I don't know exactly how this list goes, what is discussed in general but I will tell you a little about myself..." welcome Jason "I just joined this list simply because I just purchased a Pentax this week. My first SLR experience was a K1000 (which I borrowed on occasion from my father) and up until recently used a Zenit-E with a few different lenses, etc. I just purchased a Pentax Program Plus with all the trimmings (basically)." congratulations on the upgrade "My wife and I live on the Oregon coast, with no kids so I can dedicate some funds to camera gear instead of to toys for the tots... ;)" make sure you have enough left over to buy umbrellas and other stuff to keep your gear dry "Hope this post is not inappropriate or thatr the list is not meant solely for "pros"." not at all. welcome to the scrum. there are a few things you should know: 1. keep your cameras away from Frank Theriault. there's no telling where his hands have been 2. this list has several resident curmudgeons who are prone to break into spontaneous grump-offs. the chest beating, growling and ground thumping can go on for days. it's best to ignore the fracas until they settle down 3. several members of the list mistakenly believe that film has passed on and have been conducting a non stop wake over the past year. ignore the "bring out your dead" chants and keep shooting. Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions. Tom Reese Have a great evening all... Jay
