EV changes with ISO of course, and noise increases at higher effective ISO in a digicam. > Does the dynamic range stay the same? Are there other problems that come > up? Is it better than film at an equivalent ISO? Latitude becomes more limited the higher the ISO and the longer the exposure. At high ISOs the inherent sensor noise is simply amplified and during longer exposures the inherent noise accumulates during the exposure and would eventually saturate the sensor. Is it better than film at the equivalent ISO, yes I think so. Firstly it's far more linear so reciprocity isn't really an issue and secondly image noise is far easier to filter than film grain derived noise. > Also, has anyone experimented with long exposures of over a minute?
