True, if you alter the camera contrast/sharpness settings and shoot at different white balances and the only thing that will change in the RAW convertor is white balance. I think the thing that has to be understood is that there is no "correct" way to decode the data, the Pentax engineers made decisions for how it was to be accomplished in camera and in their RAW convertor to provide acceptable results. PS just takes on the RAW data provides a colour point if you require and you do the rest. If you've looked at the Calibrate" tab you will see the they have provided the tools to allow the serious user to write a custom colour profile for the camera too. I have new custom pre-sets for Shadows, Sharpness and NR controls different to the integrated defaults, it's now much better for how I work. I'll have a go at colour calibration too at some stage.
