My first K-1000 had the M50/2. Later, my A-3000 had the A50/2.
Comparing the images made with them was eye-opening. I liked
the color better from the M. (Surprised me, too.)
But the resolution improvement, and contrast, of the A was
clearly visible on slides.
Also, even though M lenses do tend to feel more solid than A
lenses, I find A designs to be adequately solid. It helps
that the lens elements are in their own internal package.
With that, the rest of the mechanical design seems less critical.
Hence the looser/sloppier feel with well-used A lenses.
