"pro style"? Let's not go there. But why should they? They expect most customers to use either the dedicated Pentax flashes, or to be using a PC connector. The same logic that decides an aperture simulator lever isn't appropriate argues against building in extra components simply to support people trying to use 20-year old flashes.
