Auto is great for me too for "normal" pictures but I was hoping to get better results with macro as auto can't work at that
close distances so I have to take out a ruler and measure the distance between flash and the subject. :)
I hope it works out for you. I suspect though, that you will find the ruler and calculator to be better than TTL flash with the istD.
