Marnie apparently received a Rocky Mountain School of Photography brochure and wrote:
"John Shaw will be holding a photo workshop weekend in the Bay Area in February. One day is nature shooting, one day is digital shooting. I am thinking of plunking down the bucks and taking it. This is more lecture, not in-the-field stuff. Although, supposedly, because he started out as a teacher (I think), he is one of the better speakers at photo workshops. Anyone ever attended any of his workshops/talks?" Marnie, Susan and I went to the first day of that same workshop this past summer. He loves his subject and communicates very well. I enjoyed the day very much. It wasn't a hands on workshop with equipment demonstrations. It consisted of a lecture and slide show with many questions from the audience. The lecture covered many of the topics included in his Nature Photography Field Guide. He discussed various methods and techniques and showed slides demonstrating the effects. I hope this helps.
