Hi Amita.

I had my istD out on a very sunny Monday, shooting in snow and i found these
work equally
well.
I was using an A 50 f1.7 lens and camera in manual focus mode, which is centre
weight if i
read my
manual correct.

1-Hand meter the scene and set that F stop then press green button. It set the
same
shutter as the
handheld meter and lcd and histo looked proper.
2-Set an F stop, push green button then open up 1.0-1.5 stops achieved the same
result as 1
above.
3-Do as in 2 and ev +1.0 - 1.5.Any more than 1.5 and the whole scene started to
wash out.
I found
+1.0 the best.

My film rule of thumb if i dont have a meter is, meter scene and open up 1.5 f
stop.

Now that i understand the workings of this D,i,m enjoying it a lot. Good luck
with your
snow.
