I suspect there is a little edge related bloom in there too.

Which I suggest is lens CA due to the zoom lens non-linearities, it's obviously 
only corrected for the plane of focus. I find my good fixed tele-lenses 
sometimes exhibit similar problems when I use them in conjunction with TCs.
