The law is 7 years but I'm not sure that matters much in electronics...

Hmmm. I wonder how long there will be parts for repairs? I suppose that the DS uses some of the same parts.
Aren't there consumer laws regarding this? I know in Canada, they have to supply repairs for a certain number of years after the product is discontinued (I believe 7).
