I had an Novoflex 400/5,6, i think the version is called T2 (2 lenses inside). That version was quite sharp, at lesast in the middle, if you also compare with the price. For me it�s a better lens than comparable Tokina SD 400 and Sigma. A great solution for me became the Tamron Adaptall 400/4 which was third of the price compared to other brands.

Thanks for your input. This is what I already new, that NOvoflex have excellent sharpness in the centre of the frame, and they are soft in the corners. I have been looking for a Tamron 400 f:4, but they are really difficiault to find for reasonable prices.
The Sigma AF I had was reasonably sharp, but it showed low contrast and high flare.
