Never having had either, I'd keep the MX -- if you want to keep a mechanical body. The other probably has things more automated, but you can get that in another camera. And probably get better automation as well. I have had the K-1000 and played with a MX and it's very, very nice. Why keep a film camera with automation if you move onto digital? If you keep a film camera, keep a camera that is more traditional. Depends on your wallet I guess, if you unload none or one or both.
