Hi Mark (good to see you back here BTW), Sure, optics and trays are completely identical between the two. The 9000 mech/electronic interface is a little faster and minus a problem that could induce band in rare circumstances in the 8000 and the 9000 also provide 16 bit per colour channel DACs, whether they provide any more actual information is doubtful.
