For me, it seems to come and go in waves. Currently, things are bad (making the assumption, that is, that receiving PDML posts is a good thing...). I do sometimes go to the archives to check up on particularly contentious threads, and like you, find many missing posts. It's not unusual for me to discover a thread only by seeing a reply, not the initial post (Bill's GFM thread of today, as one example). Used to frustrate the hell out of me. I thought maybe it was Hotmail, so I switched to Yahoo. Then I though it was Yahoo, so I switched to G-mail. It's all the same. Now I just go with the flow. I can't do much about it anyway. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
