the DA14 doesn't match the DA 16-45 for sharpness. i need the extra FOV 
often enough where the sharpness loss is something i have to think about 
before i switch lenses.

The same here, my sample is sharp, even at 2.8.
I suppose the difference is between sharp and damn sharp.
