Subject: Is Perntax the only one?

From time to time I get annoyed because Pentax ist-series doesn't support
the apperture ring/aperture simulator (Grrr....).
(For me, the main reason for staying with Pentax was the option to use old
lenses/backwards compatibility - it still is though it's a PITA shooting in
manual mode).

So my question is: Have other brands abandoned the aperture simulator/use of
an aperture ring as well - or is it just Pentax???

Hi Jens.

Canon and Minolta dont use the mechanical aperture-ring. Nikon also has lenses that only can be operated from the body.

Speaking of C'est What (as we were earlier), I recall that my MX got
to try out your 43 Limited for a few minutes whilst we were there.
They looked very happy together. In fact, one of the nicest looking
body/lens combos I've ever seen.
